SLAU Launches Higher Education Certificate Programme for 2024/2025

SLAU opens applications for its Higher Education Certificate (HEC) programme for 2024/2025 — an accessible academic pathway designed to bridge the gap between secondary school and degree-level study.
St. Lawrence University Uganda (SLAU) is pleased to announce that applications are open for the Higher Education Certificate (HEC) programme for the 2024/2025 academic year. This one-year bridging programme is ideal for students who wish to upgrade their qualifications before proceeding to degree-level studies.
The Higher Education Certificate provides a solid academic foundation in core subjects including English, Mathematics, and ICT, tailored to meet NCHE standards and prepare students for progression into Diploma and Bachelor’s degree programmes at SLAU.
The programme is offered in Day, Evening, and Weekend modes, making it accessible to working students and those with other commitments. Minimum entry requirements include a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least five passes.
SLAU’s academic team has designed the HEC to ensure students receive the skills, confidence, and subject knowledge needed to thrive in higher education. Small class sizes and dedicated academic support make the programme highly effective.
Applications can be submitted at the SLAU main campus in Mengo, Rubaga, or online via slau.ac.ug. The University warmly encourages all eligible candidates to seize this opportunity to light their candle.
