The strategic plan 2017/2018 – 2021/2022 was evaluated. The goals of the plan are given below. For each goal objectives, achievements, constraints, way forward (activities which will be implemented) are stated.
GOAL 1: TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO QUALITY, RELEVANT TEACHING, LEARNING AND SCHOLARSHIP
GOAL 2: TO INCORPORATE ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS IN ALL THE ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES OFFERED
GOAL 3: TO INSTITUTIONALIZE AN EFFICIENT, EFFECTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE INSTITUTIONAL AND RESOURCES MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.
GOAL 4: TO ALIGN STRATEGIES, ACTIVITIES, RESOURCES AND TIME FRAMES IN COMPLIANCE WITH QUALITY ASSURANCE BENCHMARKS TOWARDS ACQUISITION OF A CHARTED STATUS.
GOAL 5: TO PROMOTE RESEARCH, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
GOAL 6: TO ENGAGE IN PRODUCTIVE COLLABORATIONS WITH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING.
GOAL 7: TO PROMOTE COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFER
GOAL 8: TO EXPAND, IMPROVE AND PRESERVE PHYSICAL FACILITIES TO MEET CURRENT AND FUTURE NEEDS.
GOAL 9: TO STRIVE TO ATTAIN ROBUST FINANCIAL HEALTH AND SUSTAINABILITY

The students’ population from 2016 to 2019 in the different faculties are given in the table below. In 2015 the number of students is 6929 and the projected number for 2019 is 11129.
